Exhibitors hail inaugural Dairy Event and Livestock Show a major success
2 March 2009
The relaunched Dairy Event and Livestock Show 2008, the UK’s largest two day businesses to business event for the entire ruminant sector, gained virtually unanimous support from its trade exhibitors, according to a survey conducted independently for its organisers, the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers.
Of the record 465 exhibitors to its Stoneleigh Park, Coventry venue, 94% were impressed by the quality of enquiries received, while 63% of companies took orders at the event and were also very satisfied with the number of new leads generated for future business. In addition, 53% of exhibitors received enquiries from international visitors.
Strengthening the event’s exhibitor appeal, which for the first time featured dedicated exhibitions of beef, sheep, commercial goats and native breeds, was the fact it attracted larger scale dedicated livestock farmers; dairy producers visiting the event managed an average 201 cow herd; beef finishers, an average 103 head of cattle and sheep producers an average 366 ewe flock.
“The Dairy Event and Livestock Show 2009, to be staged on 16 and 17 September, is continuing to build on its inaugural success,” says RABDF chief executive, Nick Everington. “Despite operating in a sector with a declining number of farmers and livestock, together with the additional effects of the recession, our survey indicates that more than 85% of exhibitors plan to rebook stand space at the 2009 event and 90% of visitors intend to return. We would encourage companies to book early in order to achieve the optimum site for their business.”
