Farm Safety Demonstration
On average, between 40 and 50 workers are killed on British farms every year. That’s nearly one person per week. Injuries and illness ruin lives and businesses. Solutions are often simple and cheap and the people best placed to make farms safer are farmers and their employees. Health & safety is a fundamental requirement for a sustainable farming business. RABDF is working with HSE to deliver key health & safety messages to farmers and those working in the industry. The Farm Safety Demonstrations kindly sponsored by John Deere, will be the first of its kind to appear at any Agricultural Event. The practical demonstrations will feature four scenarios running consecutively over both Event days, which represent the main causes of fatality on farm today. The scenarios will demonstrate the risks associated with poor health & safety practices and highlight the causes and consequences of accidents as well as demonstrating the correct safe approach.
